Project Overview
Marathon, Florida
Weiler Engineering Corporation (WEC) developed the design for this FDOT funded project. The multi-use trail and stormwater facilities were immediately adjacent to environmentally sensitive areas and Outstanding Waters of State Concern. Extensive coordination with SFWMD and the local Utility provider was required for this project. In addition to the Sidewalk and multi-use trail, the design also included elevated speed tables, which doubled as crosswalks, and the use of a textured pavement surface selected from the FDOT Qualified Products List.
WEC was instrumental in providing Construction Engineering Services and assisting the City with inspections. WEC staff also coordinated pay applications and compliance with LAP funding requirements.
