Project Overview
517 Duval Street (Coach Store) experienced flooding within the storefront during regular storm events. Weiler Engineering Corporation (WEC) was contracted to modify the existing stormwater system to eliminate such flooding. In order to do so, WEC utilized hydrologic modeling software to model 3-year, 5-year, 10-year, 25-year, and 100-year storm event. Using the information provided in the calculations an 8-inch stormwater injection well was used to discharge the stormwater.
Some of the biggest challenges faced on this project include: the limited working area, the existing elevations at the store front on Duval Street that could not be altered, and the Coach Store remained in business throughout construction.
