The Southwest Florida Intermodal and Logistics Center project includes approximately 19.76 acres and is ideally located at the northeast quadrant of U.S. Interstate 75 and U.S. Highway 17 adjacent to the Enterprise Charlotte Airport Park (ECAP) and along the Seminole Gulf Railroad in Charlotte County, Florida. Weiler Engineering Corporationprovided design, permitting, administration, business development consulting for this unique strategic intermodal transportation facility to be built in 2009. The site includes a construction aggregates rail-to-truck transfer station with sidetracks, off-loading, and stacking facilities, along with a fuel station, and three smaller commercial out-parcels for future development.

As a public-private partnership, the project required coordination between WEC and a number of local and state government agencies, including Charlotte County Growth Management, Charlotte County Office of Economic Development, City of Punta Gorda, Charlotte County Airport Authority, FDOT, and USDA.
