Weiler Engineering Corporation was selected as Engineer of Record and General Consultant to the Key West Resort Utilities. WEC assisted the Utility in development of Annual Capacity Analysis Reports, Reclaimed Water Protocol, Capital Improvements Plan, annual operation and maintenance budget recommendations and other miscellaneous engineering services.
WEC prepared the Utilities’ Wastewater Utility Master Plan which has been used to direct the growth and future of the system. The Master Plan provided cost-benefit analysis to help the Utility decide the most economical method of collection.
WEC provided the design, permitting and construction contract administration for the expansion of the WWTP capacity by 0.250 MGD with a new stand-alone clarifier and process modifications within existing tanks to design a process with a capacity of 0.750 MGD meeting AWT standards.
Based upon the results of the Master Plan, WEC designed, permitted and provided construction contract administration for the vacuum sewer system to serve the remainder of South Stock Island. The project included over 25,000 feet of sewer mains, a vacuum pump station and emergency power system upgrades.
WEC continues to provide Operation and Maintenance and compliance reporting assistance to the Utility.
